An indigenous women-led organization committed to positive change in Kebbi State.

Kungiyar Tallafin Mata Development Initiative (KTMDI) is an indigenous, women-based non-profit, non-religious, non-political and non-governmental organization committed to the plight of women, children and girls' empowerment and development in Kebbi State, Nigeria.

Established in 2003 and registered in 2011, KTMDI was set up as a catalyst organization for positive change โ€” bringing hope and support to the less privileged and vulnerable in society. We support actions tailored towards promoting gender equality, poverty alleviation, economic empowerment, healthy living and social justice for sustainable development.

Our work spans nine thematic areas and is backed by leading international organizations including UNICEF, USAID, UNFPA, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and ActionAid Nigeria โ€” a testament to the trust communities and donors place in us.

From Shyness to Student Leadership
Fadeela struggled with low self-esteem before joining KTMDI's mentorship programme. She went on to become the first female SUG Vice President in her institution and now mentors other young women to pursue leadership.
