When Women Find Their Voices, Communities Begin to Change!
What happens when 45 women politicians and young women leaders from different tertiary institutions across Kebbi State come together with a shared vision? Change begins!
On 19th September 2026, KTMDI hosted a transformative mentorship programme at Jamvally Hotels and Resorts, funded by Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada and supported by ActionAid Nigeria .
The mentorship created a platform for women to build confidence, strengthen leadership skills, share experiences, and explore pathways for meaningful participation in decision-making.
But the conversation didn’t end with the mentorship. Participants committed to taking action through:
1. Collaborating with institutional gender officers.
2. Creating safe spaces for women politicians and young women mentees.
3. Promoting women’s education, personal boundaries, and safeguarding.
The goal is clear: to ensure that women and girls are not just present, but heard, supported and empowered to lead.
Together, we are building a future where every woman and girl has the opportunity to use her voice shape her community.When women rise, communities thrive.
